Ocean Park

Spread over 870,000 sq. meters, Ocean Park is built on both sides of a mountain linked together by cable cars. There is a huge aquarium filled with amazing sealife as well as a dolphin show, giant pandas, rides, restaurants, gift shops and more!
Each year my kindergarten class took a day trip here. It was exhausting but lots of fun! Thank goodness for the parent volunteers.

Monkey Mountain

Monkey Mountain is located just outside of Tai Wai. You have to be careful not to carry any food on you or the monkeys will try to get it...they are very aggressive!
On our first hike up there we only saw a couple of monkeys but the second time we went we saw tons of them with babies....they were so cute!

Big Buddha

Here is the Giant Buddha located on Lantau Island. We took a very long bus ride up there 2 years ago during our Christmas break.

It is the world's tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha at 34 meters high and weighing 250 tons.

To reach the Big Buddha you have to climb 268 steps! (Yep, we counted!)

Welcome

Dear Friends and Family,
We'd like to take you through a picture journal of our life in Hong Kong. After 3 years we've come to love this place and decided to post some pictures so you could see what this little island is all about. This blog is in no particular order, some old pictures, some new... Enjoy!

FUN FACTS:

1. Hong Kong is not in Japan, it's part of China.
2. The words "Hong Kong" mean fragrant harbor.
3. Hong Kong is one of the world's most densely populated areas. Over 6 million people live in 415 square miles.
4. Chinese lucky numbers are: 2, 3, 6, 8, and 9. Unlucky numbers are: 1, 4, and 7.
